Testimonials

“I can recommend Paul as a teacher to any drummer, whatever their level. He offers the perfect balance of a dedicated, professional approach on one side, with a friendly understanding of how the student might be feeling on the other.

He manages to make online lessons just as good as face-to-face, which is a skill in itself.

My drumming has come on tremendously under Paul's tutorage and I'm looking forward to continued improvement and enjoyment when playing the drums” - Phil Davies

“Paul began tutoring my daughter in person at his studio in 2013, when we moved to Cornwall in 2017 we were devastated at the prospect of losing Paul's interminable tutoring. Thankfully Paul quickly reassured us that he was able to continue tutoring via the internet and we jumped at the opportunity to work in this way.

With Paul's patient and methodical tutoring, he makes what is seemingly a difficult task a complete breeze, my daughters lessons are just as frequent as they were in person, and as thorough and enriching as they have always been.

Paul has successfully tutored my daughter through one full Grade Exam which she passed with Distinction and is already very much embedded in the work of the next Grade which I expect with Paul's guidance she will perform just as well. We share supporting printed material via email (exercises, homework etc), and the invoicing is just as simple.

I can honestly say as much as we do miss seeing Paul in person there is very little difference between his face to face lessons and online lessons, and this can only be due to Paul's impressive experience and admirable professionalism! We wouldn't want our daughter to be tutored by anyone else” - Vanessa Clarke

Paul has been teaching my son for about a year and half now - Paul is a brilliant teacher mixing fun, encouragement and discipline and I've loved watching my son progress and happily put in the work required. I would very much recommend Paul - he is very professional and reliable and has made learning the drums a massively positive part of my sons life - John Sykes

Paul is a great teacher. He is really helpful. I enjoy the songs I learn so practicing is fun. I'm doing Grade two now and we learn all the songs and techniques properly so I feel like I'm getting much better all the time. I've loved having something interesting to do in lockdown! - Sammy Sykes

“Paul is seen not just as a teacher but a mentor, by my son who started regular lessons 2 years ago (at 9 years old). Paul is brilliant at balancing all the background aspects of drumming that go into playing them to a high standard. He has an engaging, fun and high- bar style that has worked very well with our Son and the end results sound fantastic!” - Paresh Patel
